Alison Wright has been an English actress for over twenty years. Her most well-known character is Martha Hanson in the FX spy series The Americans. She received not only praise from critics but also nominations for a Primetime Emmy Award for this. Other credits for her acting are The Ryan Murphy series Feud, Bette & Joan in Hollywood. Wright was born in Sunderland on the 12th July 1976. Her upbringing was influenced by her adoptive family. She began dancing and acting at a young age. She went to the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute as well as The Barrow Group, both in New York City. Waitressing was her job as she auditioned for roles. When she went scuba diving, a passion of hers during that time the incident occurred. She suffered a heart incident which put her in a state of coma. Six days later her loving family and friends gathered by her bedside in the hospital to leave. Wright was born in Sunderland on 12th July 1976. The parents she adopted brought her up there.
