Gray has been inspired by friends to begin her social media adventure, however she had more successes than the others. Her mom downloaded the app for the sole purpose of watching her. Loren Gray's musical.ly successes spread across different social media platforms. The videos of Gray were uploaded to YouTube by random users that reacted. Gray became a cult figure However, not all her fans were thrilled. Indeed, some of them turned against Gray, rather than embracing her. Some of Loren's friends started calling her names and deleting their accounts. Loren said in an UPROXX Interview: "They wrote horrible things about me, saying I was rude. They also said that I had lips fillers and had work done. I've always been anorexic with albinism. There was a lot of talk about how they likely to take me over to the point that I were in the school's restroom talking to my mother and telling she I was worried."
